How Often Should Cats Be Groomed?
Thursday, April 22, 2010Persian cats : Grooming is imperative, we know that but how often is a question that confuses many cat owners. Many people consult their vets for cat grooming schedules and with many Persian cats - shaving is the end result.
Cat Grooming What & How Often
- Bathing Persian cats should be bathed in general once a month. Bathing regularly can affect the coat, fur and health of Persian cats. Increasing the frequency of baths is recommended when showing. To remove dirt or tear stains use face powders and tear stain removers such as the Anna Line.
- Brushing Unlike bathing, brushing or actually combing definitely has to be done more often. Comb your Persian cat at least once a week- if not daily, esp in areas such as the arm pits and behind the ears. Brush/Comb gently and very carefully using specific brushes and combs for specific areas.
- Nail Clipping Clipping claws and nails is required no more than once in every two weeks. Cat nail clipping is important as it avoids scratches on the cat’s skin and yours too. back Nails grow a slight bit slower than the front- so watch the front nails the most!
So now you know and we hope you have been doing just that all along. If not then, it’s never too late to get back on the right track with cat rearing. Make cat grooming the best time for your Persian cats, get tools and cat grooming products from PurrinLot.com
